Ra'mon-Lawrence Coleman is currently a designer for Target. In the past, he has worked as a bridal designer for Linda Campisano, a designer for Price Walton Couture, and an assistant designer for Garry Graham. The first garment he ever made was an avant-garde three-ply silk gown that was lined with 40 rows of silk organza. He attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and did his post-graduate training in fur design at SAGA industries in Denmark.
His favorite designer is Marc Jacobs. When he's designing, he likes listening to Bjork, Jay-Z, Linkin Park, classical, Jonas Brothers, Janet Jackson, and Rosemary Clooney. He considers a classic vintage piece of clothing or an accessory mixed with modern pieces absolute fashion musts. He believes being conceptual, pushing perceptions, letting his designs occur organically and understanding movement to be his greatest strengths as a designer. He counts literature, unexpected music combinations like hip-hop with rock, and the Surrealist and Cubist art movements to be among his design influences. He would love to design for Rihanna.
