Raphael Sbarge was born an only child to a filmmaker and a Broadway costume designer. His first role came at age four in PBS's "Sesame Street." However, Sbarge didn't decide to become an actor until he was 13. Several years later he found himself on Broadway alongside Faye Dunaway.
Several weeks after finishing high school, Sbarge co-starred in "Risky Business," alongside Tom Cruise. Sbarge went on to appear in such films as "Independence Day," "Pearl Harbor" and "Message in a Bottle." His indie credits include "Dogs Tale," "Home Room," "Carnasaur," "Abuse" and "The Assassination of Richard Nixon."
His theater credits include O'Neil's "Ah, Wilderness," "Voices of the Dark" and "Twilight of the Golds'." Among his awards are the L.A. Drama Critics' Award, The San Francisco Circle Critics Award, Garland Award and The FANY Award.
Sbarge has also appeared in numerous TV series. Among his credits are "A Streetcar Named Desire," "Star Trek Voyager," "Profiler," "Crossing Jordan," "Without a Trace," "CSI," "Eyes" and the NBC miniseries "The Billionaire Boys Club." He was a series regular on CBS's critically acclaimed "The Guardian" and had recurring roles on "ER" and "CSI: NY."
Sbarge is married to actress Lisa Akey, with whom he has acted on Broadway. They live with their two children in Los Angeles, where they run a clothing boutique.
