Raymond Ablack began working in TV commercials when he was 11. He has appeared on the series "Life with Derek." A competitive hockey player for thirteen years, Raymond played the role of Young Simba in the theatre production of "The Lion King" at the Princess of Wales theatre in Toronto before landing his role on "Degrassi."
Raymond has a first degree black belt in Goju Ryu Karate-do, Kobudo (weaponry) and Jiu-Jitsu (ground-fighting).
Ray traveled to Africa with members of the "Degrassi" cast to build a school in Kenya with the organization Free the Children. A documentary of Raymond and his castmates' trip aired on MTV in Canada in 2007, and in 2008, Ray and the cast traveled to Ecuador.
