Rebecca Bross is a gymnast competing at the 2012 London Summer Olympics for the USA. She is the 2010 U.S. all-around champion and a two-time world all-around medalist (2009: Silver, 2010: Bronze).

Rebecca Bross returned to competition at the City of Jesolo Trophy in March after dislocating her knee at 2011 Nationals seven months prior. Bross performed on the uneven bars and balance beam in Italy, but with mixed results. She fell on bars, but was strong on beam.

In her first competition since the Worlds in October 2010, Bross looked underprepared in practices. The first night of competition she had an uncharacteristic three falls, but was still in fourth place. On the final day of competition, Bross again had a fall on beam, but showed a strong floor routine. On her third event, vault, she under-rotated the landing and dislocated her kneecap. Bross was forced to withdraw from the competition and the kneecap required surgery days later.

She is the 2010 U.S. all-around champion. Bross won the junior title in 2007, but was forced to miss the VISA National Championships in 2008 due to injury. She finished third in her senior debut in 2009 before winning the title in 2010.

Bross has a lot of eyes and expectations on her heading into the 2012 London Games. The last two women's Olympic all-around champions have come from her training gym, WOGA, in Plano, Texas - Carly Patterson in 2004 and Nastia Liukin in 2008. Like Nastia, Bross is coached by Valeri Liukin, Nastia's father.

Bross is a six-time world medalist, but has yet to win world gold. She was in position to win the world all-around title in 2009, but a fall on her final tumbling pass and the gold went to her teammate Bridget Sloan. In 2010, Bross won the all-around bronze medal at Worlds after falling off beam. She also has two bronze on bars (2009, 10), a team silver (2010), and silver on beam (2010).

Her favorite event is floor, "because it is an open floor and you just get to go out there and perform," but one of her favorite skills is her standing Arabian on beam. Bross wants to improve her vault.

Bross had a rough 2008. She broke her foot in the spring when she missed her foot on a beam dismount. In November, she had surgery to repair a dislocated right knee cap (this time from a bars dismount). When the surgeons put the knee cap back in place, a piece of bone chipped off, so they had to go back in and take it out. It took Bross five months to get back all of her skills.

She collects magnets from her travels and keeps them in her gym locker. It started as a tradition between Bross and her best friend that she continued even after her friend moved.

She began gymnastics at age six, and at nine years old, her family moved from Michigan to Texas in order for Bross to train at WOGA. Bross has one older brother, Benjamin.
