Rex Linn stars as Detective Frank Tripp on CBS's "CSI: Miami." Rex Linn's passion for acting started at a young age when he grew up in his small Texas town watching monster movies starring Boris Karloff and Lon Chaney, and westerns starring John Wayne. After he earned a B.A. degree in radio, television and film from Oklahoma State University, Rex Linn found a job with an oil company and eventually landed in banking, where he became the vice president of his branch. It was shortly after that when, in the middle of processing a loan for a young man who was talking about how his loan was going to help him fulfill his lifelong dream, Rex Linn went into his boss's office and turned in his resignation. Rex Linn knew that it was time for him to live out his dream of being an actor. Although he was already in his early 30s at the time, Rex Linn moved to Los Angeles and was able to convince a talent agent to take a chance on him and the rest is history. In 1989, Rex Linn was cast as serial killer Floyd Epps in the feature film "Night Game." However, Rex Linn's big break came when he landed the role of Richard Travers, the bad U.S. Treasury agent in the film "Cliffhanger," which stayed at the #1 spot in America for four weeks. Since then Rex Linn has appeared in over 30 films, including "After the Sunset," "Cheaper by the Dozen," "Rush Hour," "Breakdown," "Jack Bull," "Ghosts of Mississippi," "Tin Cup" and "Clear and Present Danger." Rex Linn's television credits include "JAG," on the Network, "Third Rock from the Sun" and "Snoops." Rex Linn was born in Spearman, Texas and now lives in Los Angeles. Rex Linn's birth date is November 13.
