Rob Adler is part of the faculty cast on ABC's reality series, "High School Musical: Get in the Picture."
Rob Adler was born and raised in New Jersey, finding his love of acting at the age of five. Rob Adler spent his summers working in the theater and at NJ's Summer Arts Institute at Rutgers University, then went on to apprentice under renowned theater directors Christopher Martin, Richard Edelman and the late great actor William Hickey in Woodstock, NY. Before graduating high school, Rob Adler studied acting in Manhattan and abroad in England with Fiona Shaw & Alan Rickman at the British American Drama Academy.
Following high school, Rob Adler went on to the DePaul University theater department, where he had the privilege of acting in a world premiere of a lost Clifford Odets play, "I Got the Blues," to rave reviews. Upon graduation from college, Rob Adler apprenticed under Viola Spolin at the Players Space, and studied further with Paul Sills and Gary Schwartz in Wisconsin and Seattle. There Rob Adler met Todd Stashwick and decided to start a school for Spontaneous Theater. Not only did he teach Improvisation, he also directed the STC in North Hollywood and in Los Angeles.
Rob Adler went on to direct "Tell Veronica," starring Charlene Tilton ("Dallas") at the Hudson Guild, and created the award-winning ZHX Soundscape at the Chicago Improv Festival. At the CIF Rob Adler also directed "Tastes Like Home" and "Comedy Cooking Stage."
Not only does Rob Adler do the funny, direct the funny and teach the funny, but he has a long history with Shakespeare, doing a multi-touring run in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "Much Ado About Nothing." Rob Adler is currently a member of Tim Robbins Actors group, along with teaching at the STC.
