Rob Kidney from "Biggest Loser 2016" is one of the contestants featured in Season 17 of the NBC reality weight-loss competition series. He is teamed up with his daughter, Sarah Gilbert. Rob is a small business owner from Warner Robins, Georgia. His starting weight is 326 lbs.

Although he's been overweight on and off throughout his life, it wasn't until the last seven years that Rob Kidney's weight gain really accelerated, resulting in his current weight of 326 pounds. During that time, a tornado wiped out his business, his son struggled with drug addiction, he endured two prostate cancer surgeries and, while recovering from radiation, his best friend died. "Each of those crisis events was enough to shake me, but having them happen in such a short period of time was like a weight gain tsunami," Rob says.

After growing up in Harrison City, Pennsylvania, with three siblings, he graduated with a marketing degree from East Carolina University. Married for 33 years, Rob has a son and a daughter, his "Biggest Loser" teammate Sarah. He said his "aha moment" was his two cancer surgeries and the awareness that he was killing himself at 56 years old. "I know if I don't get help with this that I will be terribly sick in the next few years and dead before long," he says. "I'm ready to repair the damage that emotional eating caused." Rob has high blood pressure and sleep apnea. He looks forward to riding a roller coaster, bungee jumping, running a marathon, playing basketball and riding a bike once he loses the weight.
