Robin Weigert stars in A&E's drama series "Damien."

Robin Weigert is perhaps best known for starring as Calamity Jane in HBO's "Deadwood." She more recently had recurring roles as Wendy Ross-Hogarth in Netflix's "Marvel's Jessica Jones" and the stiletto-heeled power-house attorney Ally Lowen on FX's "Sons of Anarchy." Other recurring arcs include "Chicago PD," "Hawthorne," "Life" and "Cold Case." Guest appearances on television shows include "Law & Order: SVU," "The Following," "Once Upon a Time," "Chicago Fire," "American Horror Story," "A Gifted Man," "Grey's Anatomy," "Law & Order: Los Angeles," "Law & Order," "Miami Medical," "The Mentalist," "Private Practice," "The Cleaner," "United States of Tara," "ER," "Lost," "Numb3rs" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."

Before moving to Los Angeles to join the cast of HBO's "Deadwood," Robin Weigert enjoyed a nearly decade long stage career in New York, where she performed both on and off Broadway, received nominations for Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel awards for her work in Richard Nelson's "Madame Melville" and shared the stage with the likes of Meryl Streep, Christopher Walken, Cherry Jones, Patti Lupone and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, to name a few.

Weigert returned to New York to play the eponymous Angel in Tony Kushner's "Angels in America," which had a celebrated run at the Signature Theater. She had also, a decade before, played the part of the Mormon Mother in Mike Nichols' Emmy Award-winning HBO miniseries adaptation, starring Meryl Streep, Emma Thompson and Al Pacino.

Weigert's first break in film came when Stephen Soderbergh cast her as the platinum blonde Teutonic hussy Hannelore in "The Good German," starring George Clooney and Cate Blanchett. Hannalore was no Calamity Jane, and that piece of casting set the tone for what was to follow; no two parts were even remotely alike. Suzanne Bier cast her as Brenda in "Things We Lost in the Fire," a movie that starred Benicio del Toro and Halle Berry. "Fragments," which followed, had an ensemble cast that included Forrest Whitaker, Kate Beckensale, Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce and Josh Hutcherson. Weigert played the controlling neurotic sister to Rene Zellweger in "My One and Only." Fifteen pounds lighter, and covered in tattoos, Weigert played the strung-out stripper Olive in Charley Kaufman's "Synecdoche, New York." Rebecca Miller cast Weigert as Julianne Moore's kind-but-clueless lover Trish in "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee."

In 2012 Weigert was seen with her friend John Hawkes in "The Sessions," which won the Audience Award and the Best Ensemble Award at the Sundance Film Festival. She also had a lead role in "Concussion," an official selection for the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
