Rosa Blasi stars in "The Thundermans" on Nickelodeon as Barb Thunderman, the mother in a superhero family, who can generate lightning from her hands.

Blasi also recently had recurring roles in FOX's "Lone Star" and ABC Family's "Make It or Break It," as former-pop-star-turned-trophy-wife-extraordinaire Ronnie Cruz.

A native of Chicago, Rosa Blasi comes from a strong theater background having performed in more than 40 professional productions, beginning at the age of 8, that range from musical theater, to Kenny Rogers' North American tour, to comedy and improvisation at the esteemed Piven Performance Company and Second City.

Rosa's television debut was a recurring role on the CBS soap opera, "The Bold & The Beautiful." Soon to follow was a starring role on the MTV/UPN sitcom "Hitz." Rosa's rare combination of comedic timing and sex appeal landed her many guest starring roles on "Fraiser," "Becker," "90210," "Caroline in the City," "Grown Ups," "Holding the Baby," and "Married with Children."

In a career 180, she starred opposite Bob Hoskins in the Showtime film "Norriega: God's Favorite." The film was directed by Roger Spottiswoode and shot in the Phillipines. Both the film and Rosa's performance were critically acclaimed.

Television audiences know Rosa best for her portrayal of Dr. Lu Delgado on the successful Lifetime television dramatic series, "Strong Medicine." The show lasted 6 seasons, and was a basic cable milestone when it reached its 100th episode. Rosa received an Alma Award nomination, and won a Gracie Allen Award, Imagen Award, Shine Award, Spirit Award, Epic Award, & PRISM award for her work on "Strong Medicine."

Rosa has recorded numerous radio and television voice overs (including a few different roles on the hit animated FOX series, "American Dad"). Her sharp tongue and quick wit have earned her a reputation as a favorite and often repeat guest on talk shows such as "Jimmy Kimmel," "The View," "Politically Incorrect," "The Craig Ferguson Show," "The Craig Kilbourne Show," "The Sharon Osbourne Show," "The Best Damn Sports Show Ever" and "Love Line."

Rosa has been featured in the magazines, Time, People, US Weekly, Entertainment Weekly, In Style, Stuff, Maxim, In Touch, Self, TV Guide, Movieline, Rosie, Razor (cover), and OYE (cover).

Rosa is taking a stand up comedy hiatus (previous venues include the Laugh Factory, the Comedy Store,& the Improv) in lieu of her budding writing career. She contributed an article to the Huffington Post titled, "A Hole In ... .Some," about the Tiger Woods scandal and is ecstatic to have authored a book coming out with Harper Collins (It Books) in early 2011. The book is tentatively titled "Jock Itch: Memoirs of A Retired Jersey Chaser" and is a raw, honest, comedic memoir, (a cautionary tale really), about her life as a former athlete addict, and struggling with her new found sobriety as a Jock-aholic.

The charity Rosa is most passionate about is called Friends of El Faro, directed by Leigh Kilton Smith. Rosa has been visiting the El Faro orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico for the past eight years. She has also performed comedic parodies of songs, (with Lisa Ann Walters) at the "What a Pair" Breast Cancer Benefits.

She resides in the South Bay beach cities area with her daughter Kaia.
