Ryan Robbins stars as Henry Foss on SCI FI Channel's "Sanctuary."

Ryan Robbins was born in Canada and raised in Victoria, British Columbia. He attended arts-oriented schools where he wrote, produced, directed and starred in high-school productions.

After high school, Robbins began his professional career as a circus performer, traveling to Australia to perform. Longing for a new creative outlet, he moved back to Canada. While in Vancouver, he helped form an experimental band, Hellenkeller. During that time, he was a struggling homeless artist, living in a van during the winter months.

It all changed for Robbins one night while on stage performing with his band. He was discovered by a local filmmaker who launched his career into the world of film and television.

Since then, he has guest starred in recurring roles on "Blade," "Battlestar Galactica," "Stargate Atlantis" and "The Collector," and was the series lead in the CTV show, "Alice I Think." Robbins can also be seen in the independent film, "The Cabin Movie." His other credits include "Supernatural," "Reaper," "Smallville," "Catwoman," "Walking Tall," "The Days," "Kingdom Hospital," "The Guard," "The Bug," which won three Leo Awards, and Steven Spielberg's "Taken," as well as the highly acclaimed Spielberg miniseries, "Into the West."

Robbins won a Best Actor award at the Sacramento Film Festival for the short film, "When Jesse Was Born" and has also won several Leo awards, including one in 2008 for his guest starring role on CBC's "jPod."
