The director handpicked Worthington to star in the groundbreaking 3D science fiction feature following an exhaustive international casting search. "Avatar" has now earned more than $2.35 billion at the worldwide box office, making it the top-grossing film of all time, surpassing Cameron's own "Titanic" after a 12-year reign. Among its numerous honors, "Avatar" won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture - Drama, and earned nine Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director, and winning three.
