Sarina-Joi Crowe from "American Idol 2015" is one of the top 24 contestants in Season 14 of the FOX reality singing competition. She sang "Love Runs Out" by OneRepublic for her audition in Kansas City, Missouri. She previously made it to Hollywood in Seasons 10 (top 100), 12 (top 46 girls) and 13 (top 77).

Sarina-Joi Crowe is a gospel, pop punk and R&B singer from Columbia, Tennessee. She has been singing since she was seven years old when they put her in the church choir. She aspires to perform on Broadway one day, and her favorite musicals are "High School Musical," "Hairspray," "Legally Blonde the Musical," "Rent" and "Wicked."

Here is an interview with Sarina-Joi:

When did you first start singing?

I first began singing when I was six, but I didn't realize that I really wanted to be a performer until I was fourteen.
What role does music play in your life?

Music is like breathing to me. I wake up in the morning and the first thing I do is sing. I can't even use the bathroom without singing … it's just something that comes so natural to me. If I can't depend on anything else in my life, I know that I can depend on music to be there for me, regardless of how successful I am. Even if I can't get people to come to a show, I'm still going sing for myself, because music is too much of an important aspect of my life to ever quit.
What makes you unique?

I have an intense love for all things different. Just when you think you know what kind of artist I am, I'm not that artist. I love the appeal of Pop/Rock music. I love how in order to really embrace this kind of music, you kind of have to embrace the combination of passion and fun that it takes to really perform. And performing is my first love. Being on a stage with a band and giving the audience something to really feel and go nuts over is an addictive feeling. I just like to have fun and more than anything I want the audience to have that feeling too.
Do you have a wish list of writers you'd like to write with? If so, who?

Actually, no. I haven't really thought about writing with many people. But I would definitely like to write with Demi Lovato, Jon McLaughlin, or Stevie Nicks. All three really talented writers.
What are your top three all-time favorite songs and why?

"The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac – Besides the fact that Fleetwood Mac is my favorite band of all time, this song is incredibly well written and the lyrics have always spoken to me on a personal level. Also, the song contains every element that draws me to rock music.

"Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper – Incredible song, incredible words, and a very downplayed singer, I have always loved the simplicity of this song.

"Stop the World" by Demi Lovato – My favorite Demi Lovato song, and one of my favorite songs in general because of the writing and sound of the entire song. Plus it helps that Demi Lovato is one of my favorite artists.
What is your strongest musical strength?

Finding songs that I can relate to and singing them with emotion, rather than finding songs that I just "sound good" on.
What is your greatest musical weakness?

Letting other people's talent effect my self esteem. Sometimes I can be a little intimidated by other people's talent, but it's because of how amazing I find some singers to be. I'm working on realizing and accepting how good I am too.
Who are your top three favorite and most influential artists? What is it about your favorite artists that you are drawn to?

Stevie Nicks, Demi Lovato, and Jessie J. All three of those women are confident singers with huge voices and the proper sense of who they want to be as musicians. They all know how to write and perform amazing music and I just have taken so much from all three as I have been developing myself. I also would like to be able to captivate an audience the way they do.
If you had to pattern your career after another artist, who would it be and why?

Demi Lovato. She has managed to really capture the sound and image that I look up to. Someone who is a real musician and a real person simultaneously. She's still a great singer with hits, who still manages to keep the integrity of her sound and music.
Why do you think you should be the next "American Idol"?

I have been told no three times, sometimes close enough to the live shows and ultimately being in the top ten with the chance of America's vote. Although it was disappointing, I never stopped coming back. I always believed that I could get better and I never stopped believing that I could make it all the way. And that's the kind of persistence and growth that makes up a true star, an "American Idol."
