Sebastian Armesto stars in Roland Emmerich's "Anonymous," opposite Rhys Ifans and Vanessa Redgrave, as Ben Jonson. Armesto also recently starred as King Ferdinand in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," opposite Johnny Depp.

A rising young British actor, Sebastian Armesto has already begun to make his mark in both television and feature films. His movie credits include a lead role in "Dead Cat," Jane Campion's "Bright Star" and Sofia Coppola's "Marie Antoinette." On television, he has played recurring roles on the British series "The Palace" and "Little Dorrit," and landed guest roles on many more, including "Dr. Who," "The Bill," "The Famous Five" and Showtime's "The Tudors." He has also appeared in numerous miniseries and TV movies.

On stage he has appeared as Master Wendoll in Katie Mitchell's production of "A Woman Killed with Kindness" and also "Rocket to the Moon" for the National Theatre. Further theater credits include Greg Doran's "Anjin: The English Samurai" at the Galaxy Theatre Tokyo, Maria Aberg's "Alaska" for the Royal Court and "Wallenstein" at Chichester.

Armesto is the son of noted historian, Felipe Fernández-Armesto. With his classic looks and British pedigree, Sebastian has found a solid niche playing members of various royal families. He is already a recognizable face in England and, with many more projects on the horizon, it's only a matter of time before he becomes just as well-known on this side of the Atlantic.
