Shazad Latif stars in "Star Trek: Discovery" on CBS All Access as Kol, commanding officer of the Klingons and protégé of T'Kuvma (Chris Obi).

British actor Shazad Latif is of English, Scottish and Pakistani descent. He studied at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, performing in numerous shows there.

On television, Latif recently played the recurring role of Dr. Henry Jekyll in Showtime's "Penny Dreadful." UK credits include a starring role in Channel 4's "Toast of London" and recurring roles in "Ordinary Lies," "My Mad Fat Diary," "MI-5" and the miniseries "The Silence." Guest appearances include "Still Star-Crossed," "Love Matters," "Jo," "Silk" and "Black Mirror."

On the big screen, Latif was seen in "The Commuter," starring Liam Neeson, Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, John Madden's "The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel," starring Judi Dench, Maggie Smith and Bill Nighy, and "The Man Who Knew Infinity" with Dev Patel and Jeremy Irons.

Latif's professional stage credits include "Glengarry Glen Ross" and "Mumbai Tales."
