Sheila Vand stars in "State of Affairs" on NBC as Grace Hough.

Sheila Vand is both a performance artist and actress, who was recently seen in Ben Affleck's Oscar-winning film "Argo" as Sahar, the Iranian housekeeper of the Canadian embassy. Her performance was singled out in the LA Times and LA Weekly, and she is the recipient of a SAG Outstanding Ensemble award. She was also seen in "A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2014.

On television, Vand was cast as the female lead in CBS's pilot for Beverly Hills Cop," which did not make it to series, and has had appeared in episodes of The CW's "Cult," CBS's "NYC 22" and NBC's "Life." She also had a major recurring role in The CW's web series "Prom Queen."

On stage, Vand made her Broadway debut alongside Robin Williams in the Pulitzer Prize finalist "Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo," directed by Moises Kaufman. She played the role of Hadia, which she originated at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre and Mark Taper Forum. Vand is the creator of experimental performance piece "Sneaky Nietzsche," which she mounted in 2010 and reprised at LACMA in 2011. The piece was described by the LA Times as "stepping into a living, changing art piece" and by the LA Weekly as an "all-encompassing, sensory overload. In a good way." VAnd also has an ongoing collaboration with painter/photographer Alexa Meade, who is a 2013 TED fellow. Their most recent project, "MILK: What Will You Make of Me?" has been featured in Huffington Post, Wired Magazine, Juxtapoz Magazine, and the 2013 TED Global conference.
