Sherri Shepherd on "The View" Sherri Shepherd Pictures Sherri Shepherd is one of the co-hosts of ABC's talk show, "The View." Sherri Shepherd also stars in and executive produces Lifetime's comedy "Sherri," which is loosely based on her life and stand-up comedy. Sherri Shepherd continues to reprise her hysterical role as Angie Jordan, wife to Tracey Morgan's character on the Emmy-winning "30 Rock." In addition, Sherri Shepherd stars in the movie "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Saphhire" as Cornrows. Sherri Shepherd also recently co-starred in Dreamworks' hit feature "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa," where she voiced the character of Ben Stiller's mother. Sherri Shepherd's humorous autobiography, "Permission Slips: Every Woman's Guide to Giving Yourself a Break," was released by Grand Central Publishing in October 2009. Whether on stage or screen, Sherri Shepherd's magnetic personality and hilarious sense of humor never fail to delight audiences. A self-described "class clown," Sherri Shepherd relocated to Los Angeles during high school and considered being a mortician, but took a job as a legal secretary instead. Sherri Shepherd was encouraged by friends to put together her own stand-up act after seeing Andrew Dice Clay perform. Sherri Shepherd's love of performing was instantaneous. Success, however, was not… For five years Sherri Shepherd toiled as a secretary by day and performed stand-up at night. Sherri Shepherd finally got her first real break in the comedy "Cleghorne!" Sherri Shepherd has been featured in the motion pictures "Who's Your Caddy," "Beauty Shop," "Cellular" and "Guess Who." For four seasons Sherri Shepherd starred on ABC's "Less than Perfect." A groundbreaking performance on the hit series "Friends" earned Sherri Shepherd the reputation as one of Hollywood's most reliable sources for brilliant comedic delivery. Sherri Shepherd has appeared on "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Joan of Arcadia," "Suddenly Susan," "Jamie Foxx Show," "Living Single," "Emeril" and the short lived satirical comedies "Wednesday 9:30 (8:30 Central)" and "Wedding Bells." Sherri Shepherd is also the voice of twin toucans Cheryl and Meryl in the Disney Channel's comedy series, "Brandy & Mr. Whiskers." An accomplished stand-up comic, Sherri Shepherd has performed at The Comedy Store, The Improv and the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, and has released both a DVD and a CD of her routine entitled "No Refund, No Exchange." Sherri Shepherd is involved with numerous philanthropic organizations including the March of Dimes. The Chicago native is mother to two-year-old Jeffrey, Jr., and two retrievers, Angel and Shatzi.
