Sherry Stringfield was born in Colorado Springs as the oldest of three children, but mainly raised in Spring, Texas. In high school, she participated in both athletics and acting. She attended the Acting Conservatory of the State New York at Purchase from which she graduated 1989 with a B.F.A. During this time, she appeared in numerous off-Broadway productions. After her stint as Laura Kelly on "NYPD Blue," she struck gold again, nabbing the coveted role of Dr. Susan Lewis on the ratings bonanza "ER." After 3 ½ years of the daily grind of a TV series, Sherry took a break from the show and moved to powerhouse New York. She returned to "ER" in the fall of 2001, much to the delight of the fans of the long-running drama.
More recently, she had a recurring role in HBO's "Tell Me You Love Me," and has been seen in TV movies such as Hallmark Channel's "The Shunning," opposite Danielle Panabaker, TNT's "Night and Day," alongside William Fichtner, and Lifetime's "Who Is Clark Rockefeller?" with Eric McCormack. On the big screen, Stringfield was recently seen in the horror thriller "The Stepfather," opposite Penn Badgley, Dylan Walsh and Sela Ward.
Stringfield currently resides in Los Angeles with her two children, Phoebe and Milo.
