Skylan Brooks stars in "The Get Down" on Netflix as Ra-Ra, a loyal, respected, protective friend and brother with his head screwed on tight. Ra-Ra is the voice of reason beyond his years.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Skylan Brooks is the star of the film "The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete," for which he was nominated for a Young Artist Award for Best Leading Young Actor in a Feature Film. He can also be seen opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdams in Antoine Fuqua's "Southpaw."

Brooks made his television debut in an episode of Nickelodeon's comedy "iCarly" and also guest starred in Adult Swim's "Childrens Hospital."
