Sands is perhaps best known for his role as Lt. Nathaniel Fick in the HBO miniseries "Generation Kill."
Stark Sands began acting on the stage at age 13 at Highland Park High School. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting from the University of Southern California. During his four years in the intense conservatory program, he appeared in more than a dozen plays and musicals, including "Romeo and Juliet," "Macbeth," "Hamlet," "Pippin," and "Guys and Dolls." Sands' professional career began immediately after graduation.
Sands other major film credits include Clint Eastwooed's "Flags of Our Fathers," "Pretty Persuasion," starring Evan Rachel Wood, "Shall we Dance," starring Richard Gere, Jennifer Lopez and Susan Sarandon, "Chasing Liberty," opposite Mandy Moore, and "Die, Mommie, Die!" with Charles Busch, Jason Priestley and Natasha Lyonne.
On television, Sands appeared as one of Claire Fischer's love interests on HBO's "Six Feet Under" and has played guest roles on numerous other shows, including "Family Guy," "Hope & Faith," "Nip/Tuck" and "American Dad."
Sands is also an accomplished stage actor; he was nominated for a 2007 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his work on Broadway in "Journey's End." He recently appeared on Broadway again in the Green Day musical "American Idiot."
