Stephanie Jacobsen, aka Stephanie Chaves-Jacobsen, stars as Lauren Yung, a medical student who must come up with a creative way to pay her tuition, in The CW's "Melrose Place." Previously, Jacobsen played the recurring role of Commander Jesse Flores for most of the second season of FOX's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."

Born in Hong Kong and raised in Australia, Stephanie Jacobsen made her debut in American television as the lead role of Kendra Shaw in "Battlestar Galactica: Razor," the highly successful feature-length installment of the critically acclaimed series.

She was subsequently cast in the crucial role of Maya Robertson in David E. Kelley's "Life on Mars" pilot by Emmy-winning director Thomas Schlamme ("The West Wing").

A charismatic and versatile actress, Jacobsen began her career in Australia, with appearances on the popular sci-fi show "Farscape" and the comedy series "Pizza." She received a TV Week "Logie" nomination for "Most Popular New Talent" for her regular role as Charlotte Adams on the long-running soap opera "Home & Away," which she followed with a major recurring arc on the Australian series "Headland."

Jacobsen completed a part in the military thriller "The Devil's Tomb," from director Jason Connery, which co-stars Ray Winstone.

In addition to her impressive acting credits, Jacobsen attended Sydney University where she graduated with a double major in philosophy and English literature.

Jacobsen currently resides in Los Angeles.
