Sui Lu is a gymnast competing at the 2012 London Summer Olympics for China. She is the 2011 world balance beam champion.

Sui Lu had a career-best performance in her third trip to the world championships in 2011. While she sat out uneven bars in qualifying (and thus did not factor into the all-around), Sui helped the Chinese team win the bronze medal. She went on to claim gold on the balance beam ahead of her teammate Yao Jinnan and all-around world champion Jordyn Wieber of the U.S. Sui also picked up an individual silver medal on floor exercise behind Russia's Ksenia Afanasyeva and ahead of American Aly Raisman in third.

After winning two medals in event finals at 2011 Worlds, Sui told Xinhua Net, "I am very happy to win my first world [title]. I had a chance to win my second today, and I was a bit disappointed to see the Russian gymnast's score was a tad higher than mine. But it's also good that I didn't win two golds at the same time, so that I can set a new goal to achieve in the future."

She was inconsistent leading up to the 2008 Beijing Olympics and thus was not selected for the team. Sui told the press after 2011 Worlds that she considered retiring after failing to make the team. With her recent success on beam and floor and improved consistency, however, Sui looks to make her Olympic debut in London.

Sui won four gold medals at the 2010 Asian Games — team, all-around, floor, and beam. "These competitions have helped me learn to control myself better, especially on the balance beam, and to become less ruffled," she told Xinhua Net. "I think that will help me in future competitions to stay calm and less jittery. I hope I can achieve greater success at the London Olympics."

She began gymnastics at three years old and made the national team in 2004.
