"Sunday Best 2012" returns to BET with higher praise and tougher competition for Season 5.

After four amazing seasons of heartfelt praise and tough competition, "Sunday Best" returns in a special premiere dedicated to the awe-inspiring and sometimes hilarious auditions. Hosted by gospel legend Kirk Franklin with returning gospel great recording artists and judges Pastor Donnie McClurkin and Yolanda Adams and celebrity mentor/audition judge Kim Burrell, "Sunday Best" sets out to find America's next great gospel singer. Gospel legend CeCe Winans will join the judging panel for the stage shows.

Fans can expect to be blown away by performances as this season's hopefuls venture from the auditions to Atlanta's main stage. In the premiere episodes, thousands of contestants make their way to audition stops in Dallas, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and St. Louis, but only the top 20 are selected to compete in Atlanta. Many are called but only one will be crowned victor of this season's "Sunday Best." In addition to the coveted title of "Sunday Best," the winner of season five will receive a national recording contract with Music World Gospel, a cash prize, and an exclusive prize from Ford.        

"Sunday Best" continues to entertain and inspire viewers during its search for the next great gospel singer and last year's "Sunday Best" season 4 finale reached record ratings with 1.9 million viewers and 1.3 million households, and served as the #1 telecast in franchise history. Overall, "Sunday Best" maintains its spot as the #1 gospel/religious program on television, and is also the #1 cable competition show and Sunday's #1 cable series among Blacks in 2011.

"Sunday Best" won a 2011 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Reality Series. The series is executive produced by Marilyn Gill, Kirk Franklin, Brian Gadinsky, and Arnold Preston.

Season 4

Hosted by gospel legend Kirk Franklin with returning judges, multi-award winning siblings Erica and Tina Campbell of Mary Mary and gospel recording artist Pastor Donnie McClurkin, "Sunday Best" Season 4 sets out to find America's next great gospel singer. Musical powerhouse Kim Burrell also returns as celebrity mentor.

Fans can expect to be blown away by performances as this season's hopefuls venture from the auditions to the main stage. For three amazing seasons, "Sunday Best" has entertained and touched viewers during its search for the next great gospel singer. From holding auditions all over the U.S. and in Nigeria, West Africa, the series continues to be a fan favorite even winning a 2011 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Reality Series. "Sunday Best" is executive produced by D'Angela Proctor and Nia T. Hill of Strange Fruit Media, Kirk Franklin and Erica and Tina Campbell.


Season 3

"Sunday Best 2010" returns to BET with higher praise and tougher competition for Season 3.

Hosted by gospel legend Kirk Franklin, the new season welcomes gospel recording artists Pastor Donnie McClurkin and Yolanda Adams to the stellar team of judges including returning multi-award-winning siblings Erica and Tina Campbell of Mary Mary. And if the U.S. talent pool wasn't enough, "Sunday Best 2010" kicks off the 10-week competition by venturing to Lagos, Nigeria in West Africa for the first-ever international auditions.

In addition to the coveted title of "Sunday Best," the winner of Season 3 will receive prizes from the Ford Motor Company, General Mills, Nationwide Insurance and Walgreens.

Season 2 of "Sunday Best" ended on a high note. 1.7 million viewers tuned in to the excitement as Y'Anna Crawley, a single mother from Washington, D.C., took home the title, a national recording contract and a 2009 Lincoln MKS.

Each week during the hour-long contest, viewers will be treated to musical performances from the remaining "Sunday Best" hopefuls along with candid feedback from the all-star team of judges, and surprise visits from an array of celebrity mentors.
