Taylor Lautner stars as Jacob Black in Summit Entertainment's "Twilight," based on Stephanie Meyer's best-selling novel and directed by Catherine Hardwicke. Taylor Lautner also stars in its upcoming sequel, "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," directed by Chris Weitz. In addition, Taylor Lautner starred on NBC's short-lived drama "My Own Worst Enemy" as Jack Spivey, son of Henry Spivey (Christian Slater).

Taylor Lautner got his big break in 2005 when, at the age of 13, he won the role of Shark Boy in Robert Rodriguez's "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D." Within months, Taylor Lautner had successfully auditioned to play Eliot, the son of Steve Martin's rival Jimmy Murtaugh, in the family hit "Cheaper by the Dozen 2."

Taylor Lautner was born in 1992 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Taylor Lautner began studying karate at the age of 6 and was winning tournaments by age 7. Taylor Lautner was soon invited to train with seven-time world karate champion Mike Chat and by age 8, Lautner was asked to represent his country at the World Karate Association championships. Taylor Lautner proved himself by becoming the Junior World Forms and Weapons champion, winning three gold medals.

Taylor Lautner continued to flourish on the martial arts circuit. In 2003, at age 11, Taylor Lautner was ranked No. 1 in the world in several categories and over the next year tucked three Junior World Championships under his black belt.

Taylor Lautner was first bitten by the acting bug at age 7, when his martial arts instructor persuaded him to audition for a Burger King commercial in Los Angeles. When Taylor Lautner was 10, his family made the difficult decision to relocate to L.A., where he could audition on a full-time basis. Since the move, Taylor Lautner has landed roles on "My Wife and Kids," "Summerland," "The Bernie Mac Show" and "The Nick and Jessica Variety Hour."

Taylor Lautner has been very successful in the world of voiceover work. Taylor Lautner has a recurring role as Youngblood on the cartoon "Danny Phantom" and voiced characters for two episodes of "What's New, Scooby-Doo?" and "Charlie Brown."

In his spare time, Taylor Lautner enjoys playing football and baseball. Taylor Lautner also participates in the hip-hop dance group L.A. Hip Kids. Taylor Lautner also enjoys making home movies with his friends, including Lava Girl from "Lava Girl and Sharkboy," actress Taylor Dooley, who coincidentally lives near his Los Angeles home.
