Tom Irwin stars in "Devious Maids" on Lifetime as Adrian Powell.

A native of Illinois, Tom Irwin attended Illinois State University. After graduation, he joined the prestigious Steppenwolf Theatre Company of Chicago and has appeared in over thirty of their productions, including "The Glass Menagerie,"
for which he won a Joseph Jefferson Award for his haunting performance as Tom. Other theatrical credits include Broadway's "Fiction," off-Broadway's "New England," Williamstown Theatre Festival's "Misha's Party," and "Up for Grabs" with Madonna at Wyndham's Theatre, London. He also directed New Stage's "Night Mother," "Long Days Journey Into Night," Free Shakespeare's "Richard II" and Illinois Shakespeare's "King Lear."

On television, Irwin played Graham Chase in the critically acclaimed ABC drama "My So-Called Life." He was also a series regular in ABC's short-lived series "My Life and Times," alongside Megan Mullally and Helen Hunt. More recently, he played recurring roles in TNT's "Saving Grace," starring Holly Hunter, The WB's "Related" and ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and "Lost." He has also guest starred in episodes of "House of Lies," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "The Chicago Code," "24," "Eli Stone," "Private Practice," "7th Heaven" and "Ghost Whisperer," among others. In addition, he starred in any number of telefilms, including Hallmark's "Snow White," opposite Miranda Richardson, Showtime's "The Sandy Bottom Orchestra," with Glenne Headly, ABC's "The Sky's on Fire," alongside John Corbett and Bradley Whitford, and CBS's "God's New Plan," opposite Katey Sagal and Annabeth Gish, and "The Girl Next Door," with Tracey Gold and Sharon Gless.

On the big screen, Irwin has been seen in "Marley & Me," starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston, "21 Grams," with Sean Penn and Naomi Watts, "Midnight Run," starring Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin, "Mr. Jones," alongside Richard Gere and Lena Olin, "Deceived," opposite Goldie Hawn, "Light of Day," starring Michael J. Fox, "In Quiet Night," with Julian McMahon, "The Haunting," alongside Liam Neeson and Catherine Zeta-Jones, and "Men Don't Leave," starring Jessica Lange.

Irwin has been on the faculty of The Goodman School of Drama at Depaul University and Columbia College in Chicago.
