Denise Jackson received a golden ticket to Hollywood on FOX's "American Idol 7." Denise Jackson auditioned in Omaha. Denise Jackson sang "One Night Only" by Jennifer Holliday for her audition. The judges voted yes and sent Denise Jackson to Hollywood.
Denise Jackson also made it to Hollywood on Season 6 of FOX's "American Idol" before getting cut. Denise Jackson auditioned in Minneapolis where she told the judges that she had been born a "crack baby" and that her grandmother had rescued her from being sent to a foster home. Denise Jackson sang the "Dreamgirls" standout song, "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going." Denise Jackson was the first singer on the Season 6 premiere to be put through to Hollywood. It was a unanimious decision.
