Carrie Fisher is one of the judges on FOX's reality TV series, "On the Lot."
Since her feature debut at age 17 opposite Warren Beatty, Julie Christie and Goldie Hawn in "Shampoo" in 1975, Carrie Fisher has been a compelling force in the film industry. She attained international recognition as "Princess Leia," a role that made her a cultural icon, in the box office phenomenon "Star Wars" and the smash hit sequels "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi." Carrie Fisher has since performed in such hit films as "The Blues Brothers" (1980), "Hannah and Her Sisters" (1986), and "When Harry Met Sally" (1989).
Though she is more famous for her film roles, Carrie Fisher devotes the majority of her time to writing. Carrie Fisher has penned several novels, including the semi-autobiographical "Postcards from the Edge." The book was a New York Times best-seller and won the Los Angeles Pen Award for Best First Novel. Carrie Fisher also wrote the screenplay for the film based upon it starring Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep and Shirley MacLaine. Three additional best-selling novels, "Surrender the Pink," "Delusions of Grandma" and "The Best Awful," followed. In addition, Carrie Fisher wrote the telefilm, "These Old Broads," and is one of the most sought-after "script doctors" in Hollywood. Carrie Fisher's writing credits include the 1997 Academy Awards show.
Carrie Fisher lives in Los Angeles with her daughter, Billie. Carrie Fisher's recent film appearances include roles in "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" (2001), "Heartbreakers" (2001), and "Scream 3" (2000).
