Matt Jenkins is from Aledo, Texas. Matt Jenkins studied music at South Plains College near Lubbock. Matt Jenkins moved to Nashville when he was 19 years old. Matt Jenkins scored a development deal, getting one song, "Bad as I Want To," as far as No. 42 on the country charts. Matt Jenkins was then dropped by his label during a regime change, forcing him essentially to start over. Matt Jenkins has played radio-station concerts that afforded him the opportunity to open for acts such as Montgomery Gentry and Sugarland.
