Tye Strickland from "Melissa and Tye: A New Reality" stars in the CMT reality docu-series, along with his wife Melissa Rycroft.
Texan Tye Strickland has been thrust into the limelight through a series of interesting events. In 2005, Strickland was introduced to Rycroft through mutual friends and from that moment on his life was never the same as they navigated the ups and downs of their relationship with the spotlight of national media attention upon them.
A native of suburban Dallas, Strickland graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in biology, where he also played football. In 2009, he and Rycroft married amidst much attention from the media and in 2011 their first child Ava Grace was born. Strickland now owns and operates an insurance agency in the Dallas area while he and Melissa strive to maintain homes both in Dallas and in Los Angeles.
