Val Chmerkovskiy from "Dancing with the Stars" is one of the professional dancers on the ABC ballroom competition series. He is paired with actress Zendaya Coleman for Season 16.

Chmerkovskiy made his series debut on Season 13 with model and actress Elisabetta Canalis. They were eliminated in the second week. The following season, he and talk show host Sherri Shepherd were the third pair to get the boot. For Season 15, he was teamed up with first-season champ and soap opera star Kelly Monaco. They finished in third place.

Valentin Chmerkovskiy is the brother of "Dancing with the Stars" pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Val has appeared on "Dancing" several times to critique his brother's routines and participate in the dance offs. Now he's taking center stage as a pro just like Maks. Oh brother!

Val was seven years old when he started dancing and at the age of 12, he went to his first oversees competition, the German Open, as one of only two U.S. couples there (his brother being the second). At 15, Val won his first IDSF World Championship and became the first and last American to ever do it.

Val is currently the United States Amateur Latin Champion with partner Valeriya Kozharinova. They are one of the first couples from the United States to win a championship title at the prestigious Blackpool competition in England and were the 2006 champions from the Professional Latin competition at Philadelphia Festival Dancesport Championship.
