Val Tignini is an internet entrepreneur who is a fish out of water in the deep South. After visiting her friend Amie Pollard while on a media tour for her website, she decides to move from New York to Dothan. Tignini is 26 years old.
She says, "The biggest culture shock coming from New York to Alabama was how everything is so spread out versus being at your fingertips." She also says, "My advice to someone visiting Alabama for the first time is bring bug repellent." When asked what her new favorite Southern food is, she answers, "The boiled peanuts grew on me. I liked them."
