Celebrity photographer Tony Duran discovered Vanessa Fitzgerald while she was attending New York University. Her first modeling job was for a Surface magazine editorial when she was 19 years old. Since then, she has been featured in editorials for Vogue and Marie Claire and in an ad campaign for Pantene as well as runway shows. She says that being a chameleon is what makes her stand out as a model; she tries to become the image that the client and photographer have in mind.
She has been told that she resembles Stephanie Seymour. She loves to hear a "Girl Talk" remix when walking the runway. She considers skinny black jeans, black pumps and confidence to be absolute fashion musts. She would love to book a spread in V magazine shot in an exotic location by Mert & Marcus or Steven Meisel.
She works in broadcast journalism and as a host and is also a clothing designer. She and her mom developed an upcoming affordable clothing line called V'Ness. She is also taking courses at UCLA Extension. In addition, she volunteers as a mentor for at-risk youth/foster children for Children Uniting Nations and is on the board.
