Wes Bentley stars in "There Be Dragons," alongside Charlie Cox and Dougray Scott, as Manolo.

Wes Bentley garnered a Screen Actors Guild Award for his breakout performance in the Oscar-winning film "American Beauty," directed by Sam Mendes, at the young age of 21. He quickly became a director's favorite starring opposite Heath Ledger in Shekhar Kapur's "The Four Feathers" and opposite Gerard Butler in David Anspaugh's "The Game of Their Lives."

Bentley was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and attended Sylvan Hills High School in Sherwood, Arkansas. At school, he was a member of the drama club and gained an interest in acting by studying improvised comedy. He later attended the Juilliard School's drama division in New York City for a short term.

Bentley starred in Franck Khalfoun's "P2," Geoffrey Haley's "The Last Word," and Jeff Beesley's "Dolan's Cadillac," based on the Stephen King novel. In 2011 Bentley hit the big screen again with Jimmy Hayward's "Jonah Hex," based on the DC Comic, and co-starring Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Michael Fassbender. Right off the heals of shooting his series regular role the upcoming Bill Condon/HBO pilot "Tilda," Bentley went right back to film starring in Peter Iliff's "Rites of Passage" produced by Mark Canton.
