Wes Shivers from "The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights" is one of the MMA fighters featured on Season 10 of the Spike TV reality sports competition.
A 1995 graduate of Brandon High School in Jackson, Mississippi, Shivers was a two-time football state champ and Jr. College All-American at Hinds Community College in Mississippi. The offensive tackle earned a scholarship to Mississippi State University where he went on to be selected All-SEC during his senior year and competed in two bowl games in his two seasons at MSU. In 2000 Shivers was drafted in the 7th round by the NFL's Tennessee Titans and spent time with both the Titans and Atlanta Falcons.
After his football career ended, Shivers spent four years in law enforcement as a patrol deputy and breacher to the SWAT Team. He also began training in mixed martial arts to quench his competitive fire. A talented grappler and Muay Thai artist, Shivers is currently training with Hammer Hill in Jackson, Mississippi, and Alan Belcher's Team Remix in Biloxi. As an aspiring UFC heavyweight, Shivers admires the careers of long-time UFC fighters Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture.
