Whitney Clay from "Biggest Loser 2016" is one of the contestants featured in Season 17 of the NBC reality weight-loss competition series. She is teamed up with her best friend, Felicia Buffkin. Whitney is a nanny from Raleigh, North Carolina. Her starting weight is 253 lbs.

After being in a serious car accident when she was just eight years old, Whitney Clay was given steroids to help her recover, which was the starting point for her becoming overweight. The Washington, D.C., native grew up with a younger sister in Cumberland, Maryland, and later studied elementary education at North Carolina Central University.

Now 253 pounds and recently diagnosed with high blood pressure, the single, 30-year-old nanny says she knew it was time to lose weight when she became winded and out of breath by the simplest activities. "My biggest motivation for trying out for the show is my future and my health. I want to be a positive, healthy role model in the lives of the children with whom I'm involved," she says. Once she loses the weight, Whitney looks forward to enjoying exercise, not being winded so easily and shopping for regular-size clothing.
