Will Young stars in "Bedlam" on BBC America as Ryan McAllister.

Multi-platinum British music artist Will Young rose to fame by winning the inaugural season of "Pop Idol" in February 2002. His debut U.K. single was a double A-side featuring Westlife's song "Evergreen" and "Anything Is Possible," a new song written for the winner of the show by Chris Braide and Cathy Dennis. The single broke records selling over 1.1 million copies in its first week. In October of that same year, he release his debut album, "From Now On." The following February, he won the Brit Award for best British breakthrough artist. He released his second album, "Friday's Child," in December 2003, his third album, "Keep On," in November 2005, and his fourth album, "Let It Go," in September 2008. His greatest hits compilation was released in November 2009. All together, he has sold over 8 million albums worldwide.

Young's big acting break came when he landed his debut feature film role in "Mrs. Henderson Presents," opposite Dame Judi Dench. Many, including the director Stephen Frears, believe he couldn't have chosen a better part for his first role. "Will is a natural," says Stephen Frears, "He took to the role so easily, as if it was made for him."

Young has a degree in politics and would like to combine his singing with an acting career.
