Witney Carson from "Dancing with the Stars" (DWTS) is one of the professional dancers on the ABC ballroom competition series. She was originally a member of the pro troupe team, where she performed and choreographed every week for two seasons. In 2014, Witney was promoted to a pro dancer and was paired with partner Cody Simpson. They came in ninth place overall. For Season 19, she is teamed with actor Alfonso Ribeiro.

Carson was previously one of the top 20 contestants in "So You Think You Can Dance 2012," Season 9 of the FOX reality dance competition. She made it all the way into the Top 3 girls and Top 6 overall.

Witney Carson was born and raised in American Fork, Utah. She has been dancing since the age of 3; training, performing, and competing has been her life. Her specialty dance is Ballroom. She recently graduated from American Fork High School, and is ready to start her new adult life!

Here is an interview with Witney:

Do you have a nickname?

Wit, Witters

Do you have a job?

No, but I intern at a dentist office as a dental assistant. His name is Dr. Noot, located in American Fork.

Are you in school?

I recently graduated from American Fork High School.

At what age did you first start to dance?

I started when I was 3 years old, doing Jazz. At 9 years old, I began training in Ballroom.

What other training/talents do you have?

I started playing the guitar and drums (beginner). Also, I make a pretty good dental assistant!

What was your reaction to becoming a "So You Think You Can Dance" contestant?

Being a contestant on the number one dance show in America is incredible! I can't express the gratitude and excitement I feel at this moment in my life.

What would people be most surprised to learn about you?

I actually love to golf! You would think I would hate it because I can't sit still for more than a few minutes but it's true! My family has been playing for a while but I recently just started and discovered I enjoy it! I also started playing the guitar and drums.

Which choreographer do you look forward to working with?

Tyce Diorio.

Which dancer from another season were you the most inspired by?

Chelsie Hightower. I relate to her, especially because she is from Utah and a Ballroom dancer. I look up to her so much in so many ways. She's my idol!
