Yara Shahidi stars in "Black-ish" on ABC as Zoey Johnson.

Child actress Yara Shahidi made her feature film debut in the comedy "Imagine That," playing Eddie Murphy's daughter. Her character takes her father, who is an overworked businessman, on a journey through her imaginary world and shows him valuable lessons along the way. She can also be seen in "Unthinkable," starring Samuel L. Jackson and Carrie-Anne Moss, Phillip Noyce's "Salt," starring Angelina Jolie, "Butter," opposite Jennifer Garner and Ty Burrell, and Rob Cohen's "Alex Cross," alongside Tyler Perry and Matthew Fox.

On television, Shahidi she recently starred in Centric's comedy "The First Family" as Chloe Johnson. She also played the recurring roles of a young version of Kerry Washington in ABC's "Scandal" and Jessica St. Clair's daughter in ABC's comedy "In the Motherhood." Guest-starring appearances include "The Fosters," "Bad Teacher," "The Finder," "The Cape," "Lie to Me," "Wizards of Waverly Place," "Cold Case" and her television debut in "Entourage."

Shahidi began her career at six weeks old, working alongside her mother in commercials and print ads. Shahidi can be seen in such campaigns as Tropicana, McDonald's, Ralph Lauren, Target, Gap Kids, Disney, Guess Kids, Children's Place and Disney, among others.

In her free time, Shahidi loves learning to cook and speak Farsi, traveling with her family, and conducting science experiments. Her favorite subject in school is history — she likes to start everyday learning something new.

Shahidi currently resides in Los Angeles with her family and her fish, Cleophus.
