Zach Mills stars in "Super 8," opposite Kyle Chandler and Elle Fanning, as Preston. The sci-fi thriller is written and directed by J.J. Abrams.

Born in Lakewood, Ohio, Zach Mills was drawn to performing from a young age, often giving impromptu performances to make his parents laugh. When he was 8 years old, his parents took him on a vacation to Hollywood, and on his very first day he was discovered by casting director Fern Orenstein. Shortly thereafter, he signed with The Savage Agency.

One month after he and his family moved to Los Angeles, Zach booked two commercials and his first major television role, portraying Young J.D. on NBC's "Scrubs." Since then, Zach's career has continued to grow.

Zach made his feature film debut playing Oscar-winner Adrien Brody's son in "Hollywoodland." At the age of ten, Zack starred alongside Dustin Hoffman in "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium." His other film credits include "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl," "Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause," "Rasberry Magic" and "Changeling." Zach also played the titular role of Ollie in the award-winning short "Ollie Klublershturf vs. the Nazis," directed by Damon Lindelof, who would go on to create the iconic TV series "Lost."

Among Zach's many television credits are the Hallmark Hall of Fame television movie "The Valley of Lights," as well as guest-starring roles on "Ghost Whisperer," "Malcolm in the Middle," "Eleventh Hour, " Numb3rs" and "Rules of Engagement."

In addition to acting, Zach is a huge movie buff (he's an especially big fan of Pixar). He also likes dogs and enjoys sketching, reading, and playing videogames. With a large list of credits already on his resume and a role in one of 2011's most high-profile summer films, Zach's career is clearly on the rise.
